Kajiya 鍛冶屋
Kajiya is a small handmade studio run by Stephanie (Kaji) Oishi, based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.
Born in Hawaiʻi and raised in Japan for 13 years, Stephanie draws inspiration from a lifelong love of craftsmanship and making. She began sewing professionally in 2018 as a seamstress at Jana Lam Studio, where she spent over six years learning the art of small-batch, thoughtfully made goods.
In January 2025, she launched Kajiya to focus on her own work—designing, cutting, and sewing each piece by hand.
The name Kajiya comes from the Japanese word for blacksmith, a nod to her great-grandfather’s profession, with ya meaning shop.
